Browser Information & The Fix
By Abul Layth on Feb 29, 2008 in Updates | 327 article views

Dear Reader,
Currently the site is not Firefox compatible. We have nearly 180 articles on this site, many that include the basic arabic font. For some reason firefox does not interpret the fonts properly. We have decided that the solution is to make the arabic quotes in picture formats. The negatives to this is:
- Pages will take longer to download. Though not a big deal at all for those with high-speed access.
- It will take more time to publish an article, as we will be imaging the information.
- It is a huge inconvenience to constantly create the images.
Nevertheless, we will begin the process of editing our articles so that they will be possible to read in firefox, as well as other browsers. Until then, we apologize for any inconvenience and if you would like an arabic quote from an article we will be more than happy to send it to you via email. You can contact us regarding any issues on the site as well at seekingilm@hotmail.com .
Jazakum Allahu Khairan,

I can also confirm that I have never had any problems with Arabic text in Firefox on this website. Try setting the Character Encoding to Unicode (UTF-8). On the menu bar: View > Character Encoding > Unicode (UTF-8)

I can confirm this too. Firefox works perfectly fine with Arabic text on both Windows and Linux, provided right to left language fonts are installed.
For ubuntu linux try
“sudo apt-get install xfonts-intl-arabic” on the command line
For windows go to Control Panel > Regional And Language Options > Languages > Check “Install files for complex scripts and right to left languages”
Insert the windows CD if asked.
