The following quote comes from an early church leader in his work, De Carne Christi. I was reminded of this saying, when I came across a video of a Christian attempting to explain the Trinity. The video is below:

“…Hadith science is an amazing accomplishment, that stands as one of the most impressive intellectual feats and edifices in human history…”- Prof. Jonathan Brown
The following video is a talk delivered at MIT by University of Washington’s NELC Assistant Professor Jonathan Brown. He recently completed his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago where his studies focused on the history of Islam, Islamic law, Qur’an and hadith, Islamic historiography, and hermeneutic traditions in Islam. His dissertation is entitled “The Canonization of al-Bukhari and Muslim: The Formation and Function of the Sunni Hadith Canon.” This talk was sponsored by the MIT Muslim Students’ Association, delivered on November 18, 2006, and was titled “A Brief History of Hadith Collection and Criticism.”

The opponents of Tawassul with the Nabi, i.e. the Wahhabis/Taymiyyites, consistently rely upon the famous narration of Imam Umar ibn Al Khattab (radhiya Allahu ‘Anhu) using Al-’Abbas (radhiya Allahu Anhu) as an intermediary. The following is the reply of two scholars of Fes, Shaykhs Abdul-Hayy Al Amrawi and Abdul Karim Murad in their translated work, “Sufis and Sufism: A Defence”, translated by Sayyidah Aisha Bewley. You will see that the anti-tawassul usage of this athar is not proof for forbiddance of tawassul with the Prophet Muhammad at all.

Sufyân ibn `Uyayna said: “Hadîth is a pitfall except for the fuqahâ’,” and `Abd Allâh ibn Wahb said: “Hadîth is a pitfall except for the Ulema. Every memorizer of hadîth that does not have an Imâm in fiqh is misguided (dâll), and if Allâh had not rescued us with Mâlik and al-Layth [ibn Sa`d], we would have been misguided.” (Ibn Abi Hatim, Dhahabi, Ibn ‘Abdul-Barr)

The following is one of the most interesting Biblical stories I’ve come across. I thought I’d share it with the readers.
Many Christians like Sam Shamoun, Craig Wynn and others simply love going around bad mouthing the Qur’an, saying that it contains perverted, nonsensical teachings. Let us have have a glimpse of their “sensical” Bible.

This is an open Challenge to those who are opposed to Tawassul. Please look at the quotes below and answer all of the following questions in the comment section:
1) Are the statements below correctly ascribed to their respective Imam, if not which is a false statement and why?
2) If indeed these Imams did make these claims, should Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Imam Ibn Khuzaima, Imam Ibn Hibban, Imam Nawawi and Imam Shawkani be considered kuffar based on this?
3) If not, are they Muslims, but guilty of Shirk of some degree?
4) If not, are they mubtadi’een?
5) Were they jahils to allow/perform tawassul without (supposedly) any daleels?
If you have said NO so far, can we agree that Tawassul is a Fiqh issue instead of an Aqeedah one?

Introduction
I have observed that many people are searching the terms “Dancing” or “Raqs” in the site’s search engine. This phenomenon has lead me to the conclusion that SeekingIlm needs to have a single comprehensive research article for this issue. The intent of this article is to aid in the research of those students who seek clarification on the issue of the permissibility of the Hadrah in Islamic Jurisprudence. By no means do we claim that this article is the absolute proof, or that it contains all of the proofs for the Sufic form of the Hadrah, usually involving swaying or movements that are generally seen as ‘dancing’. Rather, this article is the humble research of some of the SeekingIlm team in defense of the Sufic approach to Raqs. We also do not claim that there is not ikhtilaaf, or scholarly legal disagreement, pertaining to this issue as well. We respect the opinion of those who deem raqs prohibited or disliked. However, we expect that the respect we show is also manifested by those who disagree with us as well. As Shaykhul-Islam Imam An-Nawawi stated,
“Scholars only protest against that which musters unanimous consensus; as for what does not muster unanimous consensus, then there is no permission to protest.” We ask Allah to make this a benefit for all Amin!

This is an open Challenge to those who accept the Trinity and believe that the Bible confirms this doctrine. I challenge you to bring at least one explicit biblical verse which clearly states something similar to the following:
“God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are all gods, however, they are not three gods but one God,”
or
“God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are the same being,”
or
“God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are one and the same” or etc.

A response to Dr. Salih Munajjid
“Is Muhammad s.a.w. alive and can he hear?”
by Ibn Anwar
A couple of days ago I stumbled on a fatwa on ”Is the Prophet s.a.w. alive?” posted on islamonline.net . The Fatwa was issued by Sheikh Salih Munajjid, one of the most prominent pseudo-salafi personalities today. This brief article is a response to the fatwa.

Some hadith and the words of our ‘ulama concerning the issue of mawlid, and bid’a in general.
Hadith 1:
Is mawlid a bid’a? The answer is yes. According to a great Muhaddith, Shams ad-Din Muhammad as-Sakhawi (d.902 A.H.), the assembling for Meelad in Muslim history began in the 3rd Century A.H. But the real question is: “Is mawlid a bad or good bid’a?” The answer is: Yes, it’s good bid’a. Remember that the prophet(alayhi salat wa salam) said:
“He who inaugurates a good sunna in Islam earns the reward of it and of all who perform it after him without diminishing their own rewards in the slightest. And he who introduces a bad sunna is guilty of the sin of it and of all who perform it after him without diminishing their own sins in the slightest.” (Sahih Muslim).

The time arrives. “I’ll make it in a few minutes,” you say to yourself. One thing after another overcomes you. At first, time is measured in moments, then moments quickly, unknowingly, turn into hours. Before you realize your state, the time for it is nearly gone. Deceived you were! As your enemy crept upon you, so heedless, unaware, was your person. He took pride in his victory over you, boasting to his cohorts, ‘how easy it was defeating this person, he was heedless of his state as it ever worsened!’
Or have we forgotten The Real’s words, “So woe unto those performers of Salat (prayers), Who delay their Salat (prayer) from their stated fixed times…” Salah did you miss just as it missed you. In wise words spoken by Al-Ghawth Abu Madyan (radhiya allāhu ‘anhu), he warns us all of procrastination. He says,
