The Disappointing 4th Brass Crescent Awards: Abul Layth’s Critique

Their awards are over so the critique is gone.

The End of Israel - Admitted by Olmert!

Olmert realizes that the Zionists are outnumbered, and it is only a matter of time. He said:

“If the two-state solution collapses, and we face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights, then the State of Israel is finished ”1

Of course! Demographics, and every single Muslim’s deep love for Filisteen, is against you! Sons are born seeing Zionist tyranny and oppression. Over six million refugees have had grandchildren now, I and Abu Usaama of SI are of them, and they love Filisteen more than any zionist thinks he does.

The end is near, and he knows it. It is impossible to sustain a war against a strengthening Muslim Ummah. The sons of Israel are realizing what the devout of them have been saying all along, “we are meant to live under others until the ‘he’ comes.”

Your thoughts welcomed.

A Story from The Ville in South Korea: Allah’s Mercy

My brother is an American Army soldier stationed in South Korea. He is christian, though nearly accepted Islam some years ago and eventually chose not to due to the pressure exerted by my mother, Allah Yahdihum. I was chatting with him online and he told me an incident that occurred while he was at the ville. For those who do not know what “the ville” is, I need to elaborate. The Ville, in the words of my brother is:

it is about a mile long full of clubs and they have phillipina women in there for you to talk to and start a relationship with and just to go play pool and get really really drunk, it is mainly for soldiers who lost their wives from divorce they have a place to go… but the women are half naked

You can imagine the horrific crimes and vice that occur in this little “Sin Strip” of South Korea. My brother proceeded to tell me of two pakistanis that entered the ville. Upon seeing them, my brother approached them saying, “Hey are you Muslim?” The brothers responded with an affirmative. My brother says, ‘It is Haram for you guys to be here.’

Baghawi’s Tafsir of 5:5 ; Can we eat the meat of the christians, even though it may be slaughtered in the Messiah’s name?

I recently wrote an article asking the question if Muslims would eat the food of the Jews and the Christians. I have no problem, personally, with eating the meat of the Jews, as their strict guidelines are within the realm of the shari’ah -at least it seems to me. However, the christians are a different story. Several factors pertain to their slaughtering that once did not: a) they shock animals to death and do not slaughter properly - at the kneck b) if they do slaughter at the kneck they do not mention Allah’s name - whether that be God, Dios, Dio (Italian), Deus (portugeus), Jumala, tentei (Japanese), Gud (Swedish), dieux (french), Mungu (swahili), etc. However, the question arises: ‘What if the christian slaughters in Jesus’s name? Is the food then Halaal?’

Safa Halal Foods: Formerly Owned by a Jew, Now Owned by a Muslim - Your thoughts sought

By Abul Layth

Shahed Amanullah recently wrote an article on the Safa Halal foods1, a major producer in North America of Halal meats and products, claiming that the former recent owner was a Jew - David Muller - and is now owned by Mr. Adnan Durrani. Some had claimed in the past, without evidence, that under David Muller the company was funding the Zionist agenda. Mr. David Muller denies such a claim, and states that he has been to many masjids, probably more than any Jew. So who cares right? Well, if it were a zionists company, it is best that the Muslims not give their money to them as that may be in direct support of tyranny and evil, as Allah says: “…and do not co-operate in sin and transgression…” However, if it is as Mr. David Muller says it is, that he never supported Zionism, a claim that is perfectly in lines with true Jewish Orthodoxy, then the question arises is the minds of many, ‘Is the food slaughtered by the hands of a Jew (or their machines) permissible for Muslims to eat?’

The Shadhili Tariqah - Some Material of Benefit

New Si Basmalah

I have been asked several times and by many individuals what the Shadhili Tariqah is about. Firstly, I am not a spokesman for this tariqah, nor do I have any legitimacy teaching it. Secondly, because I am not authorized in teaching it, I will not do so. What I will do, however, is share with you the articles of Shaykh Nuh H.M. Keller, May Allah bless and keep him upright amin. The site Shadhili Tariqa, has some very good articles that were taken from a book that is now not published, though soon will be insha’allah. Their website is horridly unorganized; it seems due to their poor numbering system being used. So I have decided to organize it a little better for those interested in this Tariqah:

The Punishment for Rape in Islam and Comments on a Saudi Injustice Against an innocent Muslim Woman

New Si Basmalah

This article is authored by Abul Layth with assistance of Ibn Anwar

The illegitimate Saudi regime and their cronies they label ‘Islamic judges’ have once more made fools of themselves, while contradicting the Shari’ah - not to mention make Islam & the Muslims look unjust by their illegitimate rulings. The BBC, as well as Al-Jazeera, is reporting a verdict released by the wahhabi “Islamic Courts wherein a Shi’i woman of 19 years of age (who is happily married) was gang-raped 14 times by some Saudi Sunni men. According to the report,

Seven men were found guilty of the rape and sentenced to prison terms ranging from just under a year to five years.

The woman was actually punished by the court for ‘free-mixing’ with men. What was her punishment? 200 lashes and six months in jail! Her Muslim lawyer, Br. Abdel Rahman al-Lahem told the BBC Arabic Service that the sentence was in violation of Islamic law:

“My client is the victim of this abhorrent crime. I believe her sentence contravenes the Islamic Sharia law and violates the pertinent international conventions,” he said.1

Br. Abdel Rahman Al-Lahem, is without a doubt, correct in his claim. Within this article we shall defend the stance forwarded by him, that Rape is punishable by death and that this woman is innocent, as well as show the idiocy of these supposed “Islamic Judges” who have defied the Shari’ah and submitted to their disgusting whims.

Ways to Improve One’s Brain Function, Including Memory

Many of us, including myself, have what I call ‘Brain farts’. The moment when you know you should remember or recall something, yet no matter how much energy you throw at the complication, no success! It is a ‘but it’s on the tip of my tongue’ moment. Or maybe it is a ‘where is my keys’ moment. Maybe it is reciting a surah that you have definitely memorized, yet when you need to recall it, a miserable blank overwhelms your mind. Some, if not all, of these previously mentioned scenarios happen to me, and I know they happen to others. Being the young person I am, I am a little worried that it is happening to me. So, when worried, turn to Allah and seek aid with His friends. I asked Shaykh Nuh what I could do about my memory/concentration problem and he recommended a book that addresses the problem(s) both physiologically, as well as spiritually. The book is written by a Sikh Doctor named Dharma Khalsa, who specializes in Alzheimers/dementia, titled Brain Longevity: The Breakthrough Medical Program that Improves Mind and Memory . His approach can be summarized as follows: exercise, nutritional therapy, stress management, and pharmacology.

Abu Hanifah’s “Al-Fiqh Al-Akbar” & Other Thoughts

The Opinions expressed within this article are Abul Layth’s and May not reflect that of the SI team’s

I thank Allah ta’alaa for the traditionalism found within the Neo-Hanafi movements, mainly, though not restricted to the deobandis of the subcontinent of Asia, South Africa, and the smaller movements of the UK and California (White Thread Press - Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf specifically). As I have argued in the past (http://seekingilm.com/archives/71), Western-Hanafism is fighting back. They are producing quality works to counter the oil-rich funded pseudo-salafi agenda; the wahhabi propoganda. The Pseudo-Salafi publications/publishers, the best of them being Hidayah then followed by Dar-us-Salam, have spent millions forwarding their da’wah in aesthetically pleasing formats, glistening pages, nice designs, that include slick dust jackets. Does it sell well? Absolutely! In fact, as I have seen from my former ‘dark-side’ days (pardon the nomenclature of the Jedis) of waiding in the pools of pseudo-salafism, ignorant lay Muslims (probably the majority of the ignorance stricken Ummah) particularly those new converts trying to find their way through the sectarian noise of our era, reach for the aesthetics instead of reacing for the gnostics, which are usually tainted with cheap Indian print, or occassionally could be improved in cover appeal (ex: Reliance of the Traveller).

Oh Allah! Turn our hearts to your Thikr, Make us not Blind! Explanations of Taha 124

Reflect! How many a moment have we chosen the mundane over the divine? Ask yourself; of the two which is worthy of our attention? Allah ta’alaa states,

And whoever turns away from My remembrance (thikr)- indeed, he will have a depressed (Dankaa) life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind. He will say, “My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing? [ Allah ] will say, “Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten.” [Sahih International's translation of Taha 124]
